Due to the untimely passing of proprietor Gaye Anderson  last August we have no future bookings scheduled in that legendary venue. We wish them the best of luck as they continue operations in her absense and sincerely hope it will be possible for us to appear there in the future. It has long been our favorite public venue. We urge you to support their efforts in any way you can.

HonkFest TX  

Pete Leinonen will be appearing on sousaphone with LaBanda Gozona at this popular festival of community brass band music in Austin Texas from March 21 to 24, 2013.

Salon du Swing will once again be appearing at The Ruins for their annual New Years Day Party. Sorry, this one is for members only.

The annual open house at The Ruins happens this year on Tuesday, January 1st, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  We'll have our quintet as in years past and play music for your dining and dancing pleasure all afternoon. With a break to eat of course,  After all, this is The Ruins.

It's an amazing bunch of folks who make up The Ruins membership and we always look forward to hanging with them.  As always we'll have some wonderful new arrangements to share.

This year the annual holiday dance that we play for Northwest Dance Network is being held at Sonny Newman's Dance Hall in Greenwood on Saturday night, Feb 2, 2013. The music is by John Holte's Radio Rhythm Orchestra directed by Pete Leinonen.

Always a Stunning Success, this dance held by Northwest Dance Network  is preceeded by a dance class beginning at 7:30 PM and both are included in the price. The classes are great fun and so is The Band. which

plays from 8:30 to 11:30. Sonny Newman's Dance Hall is upstairs at 201 N. 85th street, just west of Greenwood  on the south side of the street. It's a romantic room with a real sprung wood dance floor. You'll love it.

Some of Pete Leinonen's music and video is now appearing in Peter Sillen's wonderful new feature film about Seattle's Favorite Poet, the late Jesse Bernstein. Entitled "I Am Secretly An Important Man", from a line in a famous Bernstein poem, this beautiful film captures the dark beauty of 1980's Seattle. It's currently plying the festival circuit. Don't miss it!
